One of the last mega fights of 2015 will go down Saturday night inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, thanks to all the main card fighters being able to make weight on Friday afternoon.

Headlined by the middleweight title fight between multi-division world champion Miguel Cotto and former junior middleweight champ Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, the HBO Boxing Pay-Per-View attraction is expected to deliver plenty of action just in time for Thanksgiving. The marquee of the event features three world championship bouts, which should close out November in style.

First to the scales for the main event combatants was Mexico’s Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs), who is looking to triumph in his biggest contest since losing a decision to Floyd Mayweather two years ago. “Canelo” officially weighed 155 pounds, paving the way toward the ballyhooed showdown with his Puerto Rican nemesis.

Not to be outdone, Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs) strolled across the stage and tipped the scale at 153.5 pounds. Though he’s on the tail end of his brilliant career, Cotto has looked magnificent lately thanks to the guidance of Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach.

The co-main event features Japanese banger Takashi Miura (29-2-2, 22 KOs) defending his WBC junior lightweight title against Francisco Vargas. Miura was on point, coming in at 130 pounds while Vargas (22-0-1, 16 KOs) clocked in at 129.5.

One of the featured prelim bouts was not without controversy as defending IBF bantamweight champion Randy Caballero had to vacate his title on the scale as he missed weight badly. Trying to make the 118-pound bantamweight limit, Caballero (22-0, 13 KOs) flattened the scale at a whopping 123.5 pounds. He didn’t bother to use the additional two hours to shed the extra fat, thus vacating his belt. Haskins (32-3, 14 KOs) will be able to snatch the belt if he wins; he came in at 117.5 pounds.

Miguel Cotto (153.5) vs. Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (155)
