Every Wednesday, Administrative Editor Jordan Breen welcomes a member of the mixed martial arts media into “Press Row” on the Sherdog.com blog. This week, Breen is joined by Sherdog.com contributor Jesse Denis.

As this coming represents the six-year anniversary of WEC 34, Breen and Denis take a look back at the landmark event, headlined by Urijah Faber and Jens Pulver's first featherweight showdown. The two break down the eye-opening ins-and-outs of the card, including the WEC debuts of Jose Aldo and Mike Thomas Brown, Miguel Torres' bloody rise to fans' consciousness against Yoshiro Maeda and the bantamweight debut of Dominick Cruz. The two dig into the considerable historical relevance of the card and detail how it serves as an important early blueprint for the recent evolutions in the UFC and MMA.

Breen and Denis also discuss whether or not Zuffa's WEC purchase was historically more important than the Pride acquisition, Frank Mir's infamous crush on the aforementioned Torres, how Aldo actually became the featherweight torchbearer in his first Zuffa outing and the surprising legacy the promotion continues to enjoy at 155 pounds.
