A Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Ricardo Liborio, Miller has a well-established reputation as a crafty and capable grappler. The American Top Team mainstay has attempted 24 submissions during his extended stay in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, though he accrued 10 of them in a unanimous decision victory over Leonard Garcia at UFC Fight Night 11 in 2007. Jorge Gurgel, Junie Allen Browning, Dan Lauzon, T.J. O’Brien, Bart Palaszewski and Sam Sicilia have all been burned by Miller’s ground skills inside the Octagon. He has banked four “Submission of the Night” bonuses totaling $200,000 for his efforts.
