6. Eduardo Herdy Thinks Drew Dober Is Out Cold in a Leandro Silva Choke

At least Mac Danzig is one person who knows exactly what Drew Dober felt like when he got hosed by referee Eduardo Herdy. A decision to end a fight that was even worse than Yves Lavigne’s when he thought Danzig was put to sleep, Herdy believed Dober was unconscious to a Leandro Silva guillotine when he clearly wasn’t.

Not only was Dober on the correct side of Silva’s body, trying to free himself, the guillotine wasn’t even that tight. Dober was patiently fending it off and, at the same moment Herdy stepped in, freed himself. Maybe Silva let go at that exact second because Herdy stopped it; we may never know. Dober was immediately dumbfounded that a referee could stop the fight when nobody, not even Silva, thought he took a nap during the contest. Unlike with Danzig, though, at least Dober’s loss at UFC Fight Night 62 was overruled and turned into a “no contest.”
