“The Devastator” finds himself on the rebound ahead of his showdown with Prochazka in the UFC on ESPN 23 main event this Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Reyes enters the cage on the heels of back-to-back defeats. He last appeared at UFC 253 in September, when he succumbed to blows from Jan Blachowicz in a failed bid to capture the vacant light heavyweight crown. Prochazka, meanwhile, has won 11 fights in a row, 10 of them finishes. He last competed at UFC 251, where he punched out Volkan Oezdemir in the second round of their July 11 confrontation.

As UFC on ESPN “Reyes vs. Prochazka” approaches, a look at some of the numbers the fighters on the card have generated to this point:

9: First-round stoppage victories to Reyes’ credit. His list of victims includes Chris Weidman, Jared Cannonier, Jeremy Kimball and Joachim Christensen.

1: Draw on the Prochazka resume. He fought to a three-round stalemate with Mikhail Mokhnatkin at Fight Nights “Battle of Moscow” on Dec. 20, 2014.

7: Giga Chikadze wins by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 58% of his career total (12). He owns one other victory by submission and four more by decision. Chikadze meets Cub Swanson in the three-round featherweight co-main event.

37: Years of age for Swanson. The oldest fighter on the card, he was born in Palm Springs, California, on Nov. 2, 1983. Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton’s “Islands in the Stream,” Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long (All Night),” Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” The Fixx’s “One Thing Leads to Another” and Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl” were the Top 5 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 list at the time.

11: Countries in which Ion Cutelaba has competed as a professional mixed martial artist. They are Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, France, New Zealand, Canada, Denmark, the United States and the United Arab Emirates. Cutelaba locks horns with Dustin Jacoby in a light heavyweight showcase.

100: Combined victories between the five men—John Salter, Muhammad Lawal, David Branch, Chris Camozzi and Clifford Starks—who have defeated Jacoby.

4: Sean Strickland wins by submission, accounting for 18% of his career total (22). All four resulted from rear-naked chokes. The former King of the Cage champion owns 10 other victories by knockout or technical knockout and eight more by decision. Strickland tackles Krzysztof Jotko in a three-round middleweight feature.

59: Seconds needed for Jotko to cut down Tamdan McCrory with punches at UFC Fight Night 89 on June 18, 2016. Nearly five years later, it remains the fastest finish of his 26-fight career.

40: Significant strikes by which Poliana Botelho outlanded Pearl Gonzalez in her promotional debut, as she earned a unanimous decision at UFC 216 on Oct. 7, 2017. Her next four opponents have outperformed her by a combined 128-84 margin in the category. Botelho takes on Luana Carolina in a three-round attraction at 125 pounds.

2,002: Days between losses for Carolina. She wound up on the wrong side of a split decision to Daiane Firmino in her Jan. 24, 2015 pro debut and did not lose again until she submitted to an Ariane Lipski kneebar at UFC Fight Night 172 on July 18, 2020.

25: Years of age for Konklak Suphisara. The youngest fighter on the card, she was born on Jan. 18, 1996 in Buriram, Thailand—more than 8,000 miles from Ultimate Fighting Championship headquarters. Suphisara toes the line against Sam Hughes on the undercard.

.762: Cumulative winning percentage between the 24 fighters scheduled to compete at the event. They own a combined record of 320-97-3. Swanson and Prochazka boast the most wins (27) of any fighter on the card, while Swanson has been saddled with the most losses (16). Advertisement
