The cast for 28th season of “The Ultimate Fighter” has been released.
The latest iteration of the long-running reality series will feature a lineup of eight male heavyweights and eight female featherweights coached by Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum. The show will debut on Fox Sports 1 on Aug. 29, and the finalists of each weight class will square off for a six-figure UFC contract at the “TUF 28” finale on Nov. 30 at the Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
Whittaker, the reigning 185-pound champion, will defend his crown against Gastelum at a date that will be determined in the near future.
The heavyweight portion of the cast includes Josh Parisian, who scored a spinning back fist knockout of Greg Rebello on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series to earn a spot on the show. Former ACB, Bellator and BAMMA competitor Przemyslaw Mysiala, with 32 professional bouts, is the most experienced heavyweight of the bunch.
On the women’s side, Larissa Pacheco attempts to earn her way back in the Las Vegas-based promotion after an 0-2 stint at bantamweight from 2014-2015. A number of Invicta FC veterans will be in the “TUF 28” house as well, including notables Pannie Kianzad, Marciea Allen and Katharina Lehner.
