UFC 160 Salaries: Heavyweight Champ Cain Velasquez Tops All Earners at $400K

By Mike Whitman May 28, 2013

UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez walked away from UFC 160 with both his title and the evening’s largest disclosed payday, pocketing a flat $400,000.

Velasquez bested Antonio Silva in Saturday’s headlining rematch, which took place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. “Bigfoot” took home $75,000 in defeat after eating a hard one-two from the champion that sent him to the mat, where Silva was pounded out from the turtle position 81 seconds into the opening round.

Former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos earned the evening’s second-largest paycheck after ending Mark Hunt’s Cinderella run with a third-round spinning hook kick. “Cigano” netted $240,000 for his victory, including a $120,000 win bonus, while Hunt was handed $160,000 following his gutsy effort.

Other high earners for the pay-per-view event included Mike Pyle ($84,000), Donald Cerrone ($82,000), T.J. Grant ($50,000), Glover Teixeira ($48,000) and Jeremy Stephens ($48,000).
