Sherdog’s Official Mixed Martial Arts Rankings
Sightless in Seattle

After a largely entertaining night of fights, the conclusion of UFC Seattle was anticlimactic, to say the least.
While the record books will state that Yadong Song defeated Henry Cejudo via technical decision, a potential signature victory for the “Kung Fu Kid” was overshadowed by the fact that the bout ended after three rounds when his Olympic gold medalist opponent was unable to see clearly due to an inadvertent eye poke. Though Song appeared open to a rematch in the immediate aftermath, that doesn’t seem to be in the promotion’s plans. As it stands, the defeat affects Cejudo far more than Song in the latest bantamweight rankings. Cejudo, who is 0-3 since coming out of retirement, hasn’t won a 135-pound fight since May 2020. As a result, “Triple C” plummets completely out of the poll, while Song climbs a few spots to No. 11.

Elsewhere, Jean Silva secured his fourth consecutive finish in style, vanquishing Melsik Baghdasryan via first-round technical knockout in a featured featherweight affair. Three of those victories have occurred at 145 pounds, which allows “Lord” to replace Bryce Mitchell and make his divisional rankings debut.
