Brian Hooi Vows to Bring No-Holds-Barred Energy to KSW 82 Headliner

Brian Hooi is an all-around martial artist who likes to experiment with combat sports, which is why his resume includes competing in underground, no-holds-barred organizations.

Ahead of his upcoming assignment in the KSW 82 main event, Hooi (19-10, 1 NC; 2-1 KSW) looks more prepared than ever to overcome Andrzej Grzebyk and secure a shot at the 170-pound championship. “Hooibooi” has added strength conditioning sessions and specific MMA training to his preparation for the clash, making him more dangerous than before. Hooi introduced himself to Polish fans with a violent first-round technical-knockout victory over Michal Pietrzak and also crushed Jivko Stoimenov with a punch-elbow combination in February. The only man who stopped Hooi under the Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki banner is former title challenger Artur Szczepaniak 43 seconds out of the gate in their KSW 76 tilt.

Hooi plans to put on a great show and make a statement during the fight. The Dutch fighter has recently competed in King of the Streets, an underground bare-knuckle organization with no rules, time limits, or judges, where he has a record of three victories against no defeats. According to Hooi, it is the most extreme form of fighting, and he promises to bring that same intensity in his clash at KSW 82.

“Make sure that you tune in and watch this fight. All my fights have been crazy. I've been breaking records for all my last five, six fights. Only knockouts, only bonuses in every fight. There's always action going on. I'm planning on bringing that King of the Street energy into the cage under legal rules. If you wanna see a real throwback fighter who goes all out, then you need to watch my fight fighting in the main event in KSW in Warsaw on May 13. Just make sure you tune in and watch me shock Poland and the rest of the MMA world ‘cause they will know me for sure.”
