Chris Wade Isn’t Impressed by Movlid Khaybulaev’s Record: ‘He Has Lost Before’

Chris Wade won’t make any concessions to the Dagestani “Killer.”

Time proved Wade’s choice right to drop to the featherweight division. After taking a decision from Anthony Dizy and stopping Arman Ospanov with a second-round KO, Wade (20-6, 8-3 PFL) earned his spot in the 2021 Season PFL Championships after outwrestling Bubba Jenkins. Now, the Long Island MMA standout will have to overcome Movlid Khaybulaev if he wants to take home the much-coveted $1 million prize. The 34-year old Ultimate Fighting Championship alum isn’t impressed with his opponent’s unblemished record as he believes Khaybulaev has already lost. On top of that, since moving to 145, Wade is undefeated, too.

“He is undefeated, but he also has the draw with [Andre Harrison], he has the fight with [Daniel Pineda] where he got knocked out like pretty quickly but the guy wound up testing positive for an illegal substance so that turned into a no-contest and then a lot of the matches are over there in Russia on the come up,” Wade said. “To me, it’s like he has lost before, he’s lost rounds before, he’s a human being just like everybody else is. My plan is to show that it doesn’t matter [that he’s undefeated] because I’m at a new weight, I’m undefeated at this weight too. I just took a guy that controlled the champ from the two years past, and I dominated him, and my game plan and my mindset is the same, to dominate again on Oct. 27.”
