Marthin Hamlet Is Confident in His Skills to Finish Impa Kasanganay in the First Round

Marthin Hamlet is looking for a quick night at the office at the Professional Fighters League playoffs.

Hamlet (12-4, 6-3 PFL) feels different this season, with more calmness and trust in his skills and experience. Despite coming from a wrestling background, he has become proficient in striking and grappling, making him a more well-rounded fighter. This year, he showcased the new and improved version of himself as he submitted Mohammad Fakhreddine in the opening round before dominating Sam Kei en route to a unanimous decision. Reflecting on his previous dominant performance against Kei while talking with Sherdog, Martin admitted he initially aimed for a quick finish but enjoyed the entire fight. With that in mind, he feels he is a bad matchup for his upcoming opponent, Impa Kasanganay, due to his size and fighting style, which he thinks will lead to a victory on Aug. 4.

“He comes from a lower weight class, so he's more active. It's happening more in his fights, but I really can't see myself losing against him. It's not about his skills, but I feel like I'm the bigger guy in there, and my style compared to his style, it's a very, very bad matchup for him. I see myself finishing this guy in the first round.”
