By The Numbers: Bubba Jenkins vs. Jesus Pinedo

Life-altering money in Professional Fighters League has thus far eluded Bubba Jenkins.

The two-time NCAA All-American wrestler will toe the line against Jesus Pinedo when their featherweight semifinal headlines PFL 7 on Friday inside the Boeing Center at Tech Point in San Antonio. The winner advances to meet either Gabriel Braga or Chris Wade in the $1 million tournament final. Jenkins steps up to the plate for his latest test on the strength of back-to-back victories. He last appeared on June 8, when he put Sung Bin Jo to sleep with a first-round rear-naked choke. Pinedo, meanwhile, has won five of his past six bouts. He last competed at PFL 4, where he wiped out the heavily favored Brendan Loughnane with a first-round knee strike and follow-up punches.

As Jenkins and Pinedo make final preparations for their forthcoming clash at 145 pounds, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

35: Years of age for Jenkins, who was born in Frankfurt, Germany, on Feb. 5, 1988.

7: Jenkins victories by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 33% of his career total (21). His list of victims includes Lucas Martins, Diego Marlon and Poppies Martinez. Jenkins holds four other victories by submission (19%), all via rear-naked choke, and 10 more by decision (48%).

3: Fighters other than Jenkins who have captured the Brave Combat Federation featherweight crown. Elias Boudegzdame, Roman Bogatov and Nemat Abdrashitov round out the exclusive club. Jenkins laid claim to the championship on Sept. 21, 2018 and made one successful title defense before signing with the PFL.

6: Promotions for which Jenkins has suited up as a mixed martial artist. In addition to his 7-2 mark in the PFL, he has gone 8-3 in Bellator MMA, 2-0 in Brave Combat Federation, 2-0 in Tachi Palace Fights, 1-1 in Absolute Championship Berkut and 1-0 in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance.

.740: Cumulative winning percentage between the five men—Loughnane, Wade, Georgi Karakhanyan (twice), Ali Bagov and LaRue Burley—who have beaten Jenkins. They boast a combined record of 123-43-1.

12: Pinedo wins by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 57% of his career total (21). Loughnane, Genison Lima Furtado and Jose Luis Alegre highlight his list of victims. Pinedo owns four other wins by submission (19%) and five more by decision (24%).

75: Seconds needed for Pinedo to punch out Elicardo Pinheiro at an Arena Global show on Feb. 12, 2021. More than two years later, it remains his fastest finish to date.

53: Rounds started by Pinedo as a professional mixed martial artist. He has gone the distance on 10 different occasions and carries a 5-4-1 record in those bouts.

67: Combined victories between the six men—Braga, John Makdessi, Alonso Santos Verona Ganoza, Javier Oyarzabal, Humberto Bandenay and Jose Manuel Guevara—who have defeated Pinedo. They sport a .642 cumulative winning percentage at 67-37-2.
