By The Numbers: Joshua Pacio

Joshua Pacio acts like a potential cornerstone in One Championship, and the results seem to back up the way the current strawweight titleholder carries himself.

Though he has not yet competed in 2022, Pacio finds himself on a four-fight winning streak that now spans more than three years. “The Passion” was scheduled to defend his 125-pound championship opposite Jarred Brooks in June before an injury took the American out of play and nixed those well-laid plans. As a result, Pacio has not competed since he completed his trilogy with Yosuke Saruta by burying the Japanese veteran with punches in the first round of their One “Revolution” co-feature on Sept. 24.

As Pacio awaits word on his next assignment from One Championship matchmakers, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied him to this point:

26: Years of age for Pacio, who was born on Jan. 10, 1996 in La Trinidad, Philippines.

9: Pacio victories by submission, accounting for 47% of his career total (19). His methods of choice include three rear-naked chokes, two guillotine chokes, one kimura, one hammerlock and one arm-triangle choke.

1,332: Days spent by Pacio as undisputed One Championship strawweight titleholder, his time at the top of the division spread across two reigns. He held the 125-pound crown from Sept. 22, 2018 to Jan. 19, 2019, reclaimed it with a head kick knockout of Saruta in their April 12, 2019 rematch and continues to lord over the weight class to this day.

6: Countries in which Pacio has fought as a mixed martial artist. He has gone 15-0 in the Philippines, 1-1 in China, 1-1 in Indonesia, 1-0 in Thailand, 1-0 in Singapore and 0-1 in Myanmar.

122: Seconds needed for Pacio to dispatch Janito Bayot with a guillotine choke at Team Lakay Championship 10 on March 26, 2016. Having occurred more than six years ago, it remains his fastest finish to date.

30: Rounds completed by Pacio as a professional mixed martial artist. He has gone the distance on four occasions and carries a 3-1 record in those bouts.

5: Organizations for which Pacio has plied his mixed martial arts trade. He has gone 11-3 in One Championship, 4-0 in Team Lakay Championship, 2-0 in Pacific Xtreme Combat, 1-0 in Fullcon Fighting Championship and 1-0 in Spartacus MMA.

.724: Cumulative winning percentage between the three men—Saruta, Hayato Suzuki and Yoshitaka Naito—who have defeated Pacio. They boast a combined record of 55-16-5.
