“The Reem” earned his second consecutive triumph in the UFC Fight Night 149 headliner, as he defeated Alexey Oleynik via technical knockout 4:45 into round one at Yubileyny Sports Complex in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Saturday. A steady diet of knees from Overeem softened his opponent before the Dutchman sealed his victory with powerful ground-and-pound on the mat.

Here is a by-the-numbers look at UFC St. Petersburg, with statistics courtesy of UFCStats.com.

.870: Significant striking accuracy for Overeem, who landed 29 of 33 attempts. The former Strikeforce champion entered the event with a significant striking accuracy of 73.1 percent, the best in UFC history.

9: Knockdowns landed in UFC competition for Overeem, who sent Oleynik to the canvas with a knee in their headlining encounter. That figure is tied for fourth among heavyweights in the promotion.

4: Takedowns landed in four attempts for Jotko, a UFC career-high for the Polish fighter.

15-3: Career record for Sultan Aliev, who announced his retirement following a unanimous decision triumph over Keita Nakamura on Saturday. The 32-year-old Dagestani was 2-2 during his brief UFC tenure.

The record of four knockdowns was set last week by Khalil Rountree against Eryk Anders at UFC 236.
