The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday ended its year in South Korea and gave the hometown fans what they wanted for the holidays. UFC Fight Night 165 featured a fighter who practically earns a bonus by stepping foot in the cage, a few pure finishers doing what they do best and an unusual technical submission from a female fighter.

THE NEARLY MAGNIFICENT SEVEN: Seven South Korean fighters competed at UFC Fight Night 165. Of those seven, only Doo Ho Choi and Dong Hyun Ma suffered defeats.

A JUNG THING: Both fighters at this event with the surname Jung -- Chan Sung Jung and Da Un Jung -- won their fights by first-round knockout.

CHAN $UNG JUNG: Chan Sung Jung bulldozed Frankie Edgar in the first round with a torrent of punches to earn a “Performance of the Night” bonus for his knockout victory. In eight UFC outings, “The Korean Zombie” has won eight post-fight bonuses, including one in each of his last four appearances.

CHECK, PLEASE!: By picking up his eighth post-fight bonus check as a featherweight, Jung tied Cub Swanson for the most in divisional history.

ONE OF THOSE ZOMBIES FROM THE ‘DAWN OF THE DEAD’ REMAKE: When he knocked out Edgar in the opening frame, Jung earned his 14th stoppage—10 have come in the first round—in his 16th career win. In each of his last nine victories, Jung has finished his opponent.

AIR JOURDAIN: Charles Jourdain knocked out Choi in the second stanza to earn his 10th career win. All 10 have come before the final bell, while his two defeats both came at the hands of the judges.

JUNG JACKED: In dispatching Mike Rodriguez in 64 seconds, Da Un Jung improved his winning streak to 12 straight fights. In his 13 career wins, 12 have come by stoppage, including 10 by strikes.

THEIR SURNAMES COMBINED FOR LIU KANG: After dropping a split verdict to Kyung Ho Kang, Pingyuan Liu now holds three defeats by knockout, two on the scorecards and one by submission. On the flipside, he has tapped six opponents, beaten another five by decision and knocked out four more.

CARDIO CIRYL: By taking a decision over Tanner Boser, Ciryl Gane reached the scorecards for the first time in his young career and raised his unbeaten record to 6-0. The Frenchman’s first five bouts all ended inside the distance.

A CONTENDER FROM THE CONTENDER SERIES: Omar Antonio Morales Ferrer made a successful promotional debut with a decision win over Ma. Morales is now 9-0, with seven stoppage wins to his credit.

A FLYWEIGHT FINISHER: After earning a “Performance of the Night” bonus for his first-round drubbing of Matt Schnell, Alexandre Pantoja is now tied for the fifth-most post-fight bonuses in UFC flyweight history. Only Demetrious Johnson, Joseph Benavidez, Henry Cejudo and Louis Smolka have earned more.

TURNING LEMOS INTO LEMOSADE: After putting Miranda Granger to sleep with a rear-naked choke from an unusual angle, Amanda Lemos has finished her opponent in all seven of her career wins, including six in the opening round.

A CUP OF LEMOS-CHAMOMILE TEA: Lemos is now the seventh female fighter in company history to render an opponent unconscious with a submission. Six of those seven have come via rear-naked choke.

NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN: Coming into UFC Fight Night 165, Granger had never been defeated (seven fights), Aleksandar Rakic (13 fights) and Suman Mokhtarian (nine fights) had never lost on the scorecards and Rodriguez had never been knocked out (14 fights).

THEY WERE BETTER WITH TIMO TOLKKI: After a two-use stretch of “Father Time” by Finnish power metal band Stratovarius, Kang switched his walkout song to “Dead or Alive” by South Korean artist Maya. Kang has won all three bouts since changing his walkout music.

FRENCH MUSIC FOR FRENCH FIGHTERS: Gane made his walk to the cage with “Temps Mort” by French rapper Booba and defeated Boser. Across 11 uses of this artist in recorded walkout history, fighters have won 10 of those matches.

EVERYBODY DANCE BUT SAID: In eight recorded uses of a version of traditional Lezginka folk dance music performed by Djigitovka musicians, Said Nurmagomedov is the first UFC fighter to lose while being accompanied by this specific track. Nurmagomedov dropped a decision to Raoni Barcelos.
