The Ultimate Fighting Championship shambled its way to the UFC Apex with an abbreviated card that still provided plenty of cage time. With the judges working overtime, all but one fight went the distance. The event featured the UFC’s 6000th bout, a rare draw among female fighters and an unusually low amount of bonus money doled out.

UFC 6,000: The 6,000th fight in promotional history took place on this card. Pedro Munhoz vs. Jimmie Rivera battled it out on this historic match, notching easily the best fight on the card and pocketing an extra $50,000 apiece for their efforts.

Killer Pace: All nine bouts on the card reached the third round or beyond, making UFC Fight Night 186 the first event in UFC history where every single bout passed the 10-minute mark.

Saving $50K for UFC 259: After the lack of action in this event, the promotion awarded its “Fight of the Night” bonus to the Munhoz vs. Rivera rematch. It also gave out just one “Performance of the Night” bonus, to Ronnie Lawrence for knocking out Vince Cachero in the only stoppage of the night. The last time the UFC gave out only three bonuses came at UFC 208 in 2017, which also saw only one finish.

Goin’ Down Slow: The last seven fights on the card went the distance. It is the longest consecutive stretch of bouts left in the hands of the judges since UFC Fight Night 170 in 2020, when the first nine fights of the night went three full rounds.

Sitting on a Beach, Earning Twenty Percent: Ciryl Gane won a methodical decision over Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the five-round main event. Over the last 20 UFC heavyweight main events dating back to Junior dos Santos-Blagoy Ivanov at UFC Fight Night 133 in 2018, four have now gone the full distance.

Digging into Bedrock: Nikita Krylov started his career with 32 consecutive bouts that never even left the second round. In each of his last three appearances, “The Miner” has left his bout in the hands of the judges, losing two of those including this decision setback to Magomed Ankalaev.

All by Majority Draw: After three rounds, Mayra Bueno Silva vs. Montana De La Rosa was scored a majority draw, with one judge giving a 28-27 card for Silva and the other two scoring the fight 28-28. It is the fifth draw in UFC women’s divisional history.

The First Since Flyweight Was Born: While the fifth overall, Silva-De La Rosa’s draw is the second at the women’s flyweight category. The first came between DeAnna Bennett vs. Melinda Fabian at the TUF 26 Finale in 2017 on the night the division was officially populated.

Who Said Rivera Has Knockout Power? Going to decision once more, Rivera fought another 15 hard minutes with Munhoz. He has gone the distance in each of his last five bouts, and 21 of 28 career bouts overall (75 percent).

Leeroy 2.0: Taking home a decision over Kevin Croom, Alex Caceres advanced his win streak to four. It is his longest inside the Octagon, while tying his career long when he started off at 4-0.

Mom Strength: Alexis Davis returned from a long layoff to win a decision against Sabina Mazo. When Davis turned pro in 2007, Mazo was nine years old.

Maximum Disappointment: Dropping a contentious decision to Dustin Jacoby, Maxim Grishin suffered his ninth career defeat. Those losses have been evenly distributed, with three knockouts, three submissions and now three decisions.

Never Say Never Again: Coming into UFC Fight Night 186, Gane had never fought beyond the third round (seven fights), Rozenstruik had never lost on the scorecards (12 fights) and Maxim Grishin had never missed weight (41 fights).

The Original: A first for UFC walkout music, Alexander Hernandez selected the song “Crimson & Clover” by Tommy James & The Shondells. Neither this original version nor any of its famous covers had ever been used before this card.

What a Way to Make a Living: Walking out to the classic “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton, Croom suffered a loss. He is not the first fighter to use a track from the country legend – Tom Watson picked “Jolene” at UFC Fight Night 73 in 2015 and also lost a decision.
