Ovince St. Preux: By The Numbers

Ovince St. Preux wants to get his name back in the win column after a submission loss to Ilir Latifi in February. Ranked seventh in the latest Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight rankings, he will lock horns with the once-beaten Tyson Pedro in the UFC Fight Night 132 co-headliner on Saturday in Kallang, Singapore.

As St. Preux prepares for his high-stakes showdown with Pedro, here are some of the numbers that have come to define him:

34: Seconds he needed to knock out Mauricio Rua at UFC Fight Night 56. It remains the quickest defeat of the Brazilian’s career, the win silencing the crowd at Tancredo Neves Municipal Gymnasium in Uberlandia, Brazil.

4: “Performance of the Night” bonuses. St. Preux earned post-fight honors following his aforementioned win over “Shogun,” his head kick knockout of Corey Anderson and his Von Flue choke submissions on Nikita Krylov and Yushin Okami.

2: KO wins via head kick. St. Preux finished Anderson at UFC 217 on Nov. 4 and did the same to Robert Turner at an Xtreme Fighting Championships event on Feb. 20, 2009.

1: “Fight of the Night” bonus. St. Preux engaged Glover Teixeira in an action-packed battle in the UFC Fight Night 73 main event in August 2015, ultimately succumbing to a rear-naked choke from the Brazilian in the third round.

13: First-round finishes on his resume, comprising 59 percent of his total victories. His long list of victims includes Turner, Krylov, Rua, Okami, Ombey Mobley, Jonathan Smith, Brett Chism, Chris Hawk, Claudio Cunha Godoy, Jason Day, Joe Cason, Cody Donovan and Patrick Cummins.

3: Von Flue choke submissions in his UFC career. St. Preux remains the only fighter in the promotion’s history with at least two wins via the maneuver. Krylov, Okami and Marcos Rogerio de Lima were the victims.

8: Consecutive wins between Feb. 20, 2010 and July 22, 2011 -- the longest winning streak of St. Preux’s career. It started with a technical knockout of Brett Chism at a GTO Cage Fights event and ended with a TKO of Joe Cason under the Strikeforce banner.

16: Fights in the UFC. St Preux has compiled a 10-6 record in the promotion.

80: Inches of reach at his disposal. Attached to an athletic frame, it has posed a world of problems for many of St. Preux’s opponents.

35: Years of age. St. Preux was born on April 8, 1983 in Immokalee, Florida, and now lives and trains in Knoxville, Tennessee.
