(PRESS RELEASE) -- Toronto – Fight Network, the world’s premier
24/7 television channel dedicated to complete coverage of combat
sports, presents a live broadcast of KSW 33: Khalidov vs. Materla
from Tauron Arena in Krakow, Poland this Saturday, November 28 at 2
p.m. ET.
KSW 33 will air live in the U.S. on Cablevision’s Optimum TV, Suddenlink Communications, Grande Communications, Shentel Cable and Armstrong Cable, nationwide in Canada, Roku devices across North America, and globally in over 30 countries across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Two of Poland’s top fighters will collide in the main event for the
KSW middleweight championship, as Michal
Materla (22-4) looks to snap Mamed
Khalidov (30-4-2)’s 11-fight unbeaten run. Meanwhile, in the
co-headliner, Michal Kita
(16-7) clashes with Polish countryman Karol
Bedorf (12-2) for the KSW heavyweight title. The KSW
featherweight crown is also up for grabs as Artur
Sowinski (15-7) faces Japanese export Kleber
Koike Erbst (18-3-1).
In other featured bouts, Brazil’s Maiquel Falcao (35-7) meets Turkey’s Aziz Karaoglu (8-6) in a middleweight matchup, undefeated Polish prospect Kararzyna Lubonska (3-0) takes on Brazil’s Ariane Lipski (5-3) in a women’s flyweight showdown, Lukasz Chlewicki (12-4-1) battles Bartiomej Kurczewski (9-5) in a clash of Polish lightweights, Poland’s Kamil Szymuszowski (13-4) tangles with Germany’s David Zawada (11-2) in a welterweight pairing, plus Anzor Azhiev (5-2) and Vaso Bakocevic (21-9-1) cross paths in a featherweight tilt.
In the main event, former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson (22-5) seeks his second straight win at 170 pounds opposite battle-tested veteran Jorge Masvidal (29-9). Local welterweight superstar Dong Hyun Kim (20-3-1, 1NC) competes in the co-feature against late replacement Dominic Waters (9-3). Rounding out the main card, Yoshihiro Akiyama (14-5, 2NC) returns to South Korea for the first time since 2007 for a welterweight matchup with undefeated grappling ace Alberto Mina (11-0), while explosive South Korean knockout artist Doo Ho Choi (12-1) looks to build on an impressive promotional debut last November when he faces off with fellow featherweight Sam Sicilia (15-5), who carries a two-fight winning streak into the bout.
